The First edition of FIH Champions Trophy got underway in the Pakistani city of Lahore in 1978 with the hosts clinching the crown much to the joy of their home fans. This premier tourney has seen 35 editions with Australia winning it 13 times. India will have a lot to look forward to following back-to-back semifinal appearances in 2012 and 2014 at Melbourne and Bhubaneshwar. Pakistan had hosted the first three editions of the Men Champions Trophy in its inaugural year in 1978, 1980 and 1981
